I never believed such simple practise can change my life so much!
I always enjoyed moving my body in a variety of ways, finding something challenging and learning new skills. It’s only after having my children I came to really appreciate what my body is really
capable of. Exercising offered me so badly needed ‘me time’, allowed me to charge my own batteries before I cared for others. I also started meditating and including mindfulness in my everyday life. I never believed such simple practice can
change my life so much!
I came to yoga after years of trying and mastering quite possibly most of classes out there from Pump, kettlebells, TRX, free weights, heavy weights, swimming, running and all kind of hybrids of it all. I started attending hot yoga classes (on
rather challenging level!) and quickly I found myself progressing from a total beginner to advanced level practitioner. Within a few months I completely stopped all other ways of training and became obsessed with just yoga. Suddenly, I started
having weird pains and aches - being in my late 20s I didn’t expect that. I couldn’t understand why my knees where hurting and my shoulders were out of whack.
What was I doing wrong? Yoga meant to be good for you, right? You can’t possibly do too much of a good thing?
I am extremely passionate about making a real difference in the yoga world.
I was very wrong, but luckily I came to understand that quickly. I embarked on a journey trying to find a more suitable way of practising, incorporating everything I’ve learnt so far in my previous
years. Strength training and stability work become an inseparable part of my yoga practise. I was amazed by the results!
In order to teach yoga I also went through many months of training and obtained my 200h Teacher Training Certification (see my registration on Yoga Alliance).
My teaching didn’t stop there. I quickly recognised my training left big gaps, especially in my anatomy knowledge, not allowing me to cue my students safely. I am also not scared to keep asking questions and demand solid, science based
answers.
I study everyday, I love finding new resources, training, courses, webinars and teachers I can learn from. I go through many books and articles every month. I am extremely passionate about making a real difference in the yoga world. I want
asana practise to be more inclusive to all ages, all genders, all backgrounds and all body types. I want my students to be able to practise pain free, but also build their own knowledge, allowing them to understand their movement needs
much better.
